How do I add missing budget or manager info to a job?
Fill in fields that didn't sync, without going back to your integration.
Purpose
Sometimes a job syncs into Protiv but is missing key fields — usually a budget or manager assignment. Protiv has an Add Missing Info flow that lets you fill in just those fields without touching your integration.
This article walks through it.
When To Use This
Use this when:
- A job is in Protiv but Protiv shows "missing budget"
- A job needs a manager assigned for ProPay generation
- You don't want to go back to your integration just to add this data
Before You Start
Confirm:
- The job is already in Protiv (synced from your integration)
- You know what budget or manager info should be there
- You have permission to edit jobs
Quick Path
- Go to Jobs page
- Filter by jobs missing info (or click on the alert from the dashboard)
- Open a job
- Click Add Missing Info
- Fill in the missing fields
- Save
Step-by-Step
Step 1: Find jobs missing info
The dashboard surfaces these via the Alerts section. Click into the missing-budget or missing-manager alert.
Or go to Jobs, use filters to find jobs missing required fields.
Step 2: Open the job
Click into the job. You'll see the Add Missing Info option in the header.
Step 3: Fill in the missing fields
Common missing fields:
- Budget — Hours, dollar amount, or contract %
- Manager — Who owns this ProPay
- Budget type — Hours, amount, rate, contract price
Enter the values. Protiv pre-fills as much as it can from your integration.
Step 4: Save
Save the changes. The ProPay can now generate (or update if already created).
Why This Doesn't Sync Back
Add Missing Info only updates Protiv. It doesn't push back to your integration.
If you want the integration to be the source of truth, fix the data there instead and let it sync. Use Add Missing Info as a quick fix when you need the bonus to flow now and the integration update can wait.
What Counts as "Missing"
Different setups require different fields. The most common required fields are:
- Budget (any type)
- Manager assignment
- Pay rate for assigned workers
If a job has all required fields, it won't appear in the missing-info list.
Common Mistakes & How To Fix Them
"I added a budget but the ProPay still won't generate" Check exclusion rules. Or check that workers have wages set. Both can prevent ProPay generation.
"My fix in Protiv got overwritten on next sync" Some integrations sync the field both ways. If it's getting overwritten, fix in your integration instead.
"I can't find the Add Missing Info option" Either the job has no missing fields, or you don't have edit permission. Check with an admin.
