How are bonuses shown in a ProPay?

See exactly where bonuses appear in a ProPay and how amounts move from projected to paid.

Purpose

This article explains how bonuses are displayed inside a ProPay in Protiv. It helps you understand where bonus information lives, what each section means, and how to read projected, approved, and paid amounts with confidence.

When To Use This

Use this when:

  • You’re reviewing a ProPay and want to understand bonus numbers
  • A worker or manager asks how bonuses are calculated or shown
  • You need to explain why amounts look different between projected, approved, and paid
  • You’re comparing individual ProPays vs Group ProPays

Before You Start

Before reviewing bonuses in a ProPay:

  • The ProPay must exist and include bonus data
  • You should understand basic ProPay statuses (Active, Approved, Paid)
  • For Group ProPays, know that some bonus details roll up at the group level

Quick Path

  1. Open a ProPay.
  2. Review the Bonus Pool section for category totals.
  3. Review the Team Bonuses and Deductions section for worker-level details.
  4. Use Approved and Paid columns to track payout progress.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1 — Open the ProPay details pageGo to the ProPays section and open the ProPay you want to review.

This page shows all bonus information tied to that ProPay.

Step 2 — Review the Bonus Pool section

At the top of the ProPay, you’ll see the Bonus Pool section.

This table shows how the total bonus pool is split across different categories.

Common columns include:

  • Bonus Category
Examples include Company Pool, Manager Pool, Crew Bonus, Crew Lead Pool.
  • Split %
The percentage of the total bonus allocated to each category.
  • Projected Amount
    The available bonus amount.
This column appears for individual ProPays but is hidden for Group ProPays.
  • Approved Amount
The portion of the bonus that has been approved.
  • Paid Amount
The portion of the bonus that has already been paid.

Notes:

  • For Group ProPays, Company Pool amounts are managed at the group level and are not included as available bonuses on individual ProPays.
  • You may see an Edit option that allows bonus pool percentages to be adjusted, depending on permissions.

Step 3 — Review Team Bonuses and Deductions

Scroll to the Team Bonuses and Deductions section.

This table breaks bonuses and deductions down by individual worker.

Common columns include:

  • Name
    The worker on the ProPay.
  • Projected
Available bonus or deduction amounts for that worker.
  • Approved
    Amounts that have been approved.
  • Paid
    Amounts that have been paid.
  • Actions
Options to exclude a worker from bonuses, if applicable.

Important details:

  • Clicking approved amounts may show the underlying line items that make up the total.
  • You can view excluded workers or full results using links in this section.

Step 4 — Understand special ProPay types

How bonuses display depends on the ProPay type.

Regular ProPays:

  • Section header shows Team Bonuses and Deductions
  • Displays both bonus and deduction amounts

Callback ProPays:

  • Section header shows Crew Deductions
  • Focuses primarily on deduction amounts rather than bonuses

Examples

Example 1: Individual ProPay
An individual ProPay shows:

  • Projected bonus amounts in the Bonus Pool
  • Worker-level projected, approved, and paid bonuses

You can see how bonuses move from available → approved → paid.

Example 2: Group ProPay
A Group ProPay hides projected amounts in the Bonus Pool.

Instead, you focus on:

  • Approved and paid totals
  • Worker-level bonus results within the group

Common Mistakes & How To Fix Them

  • Expecting projected amounts on Group ProPays
Group ProPays manage availability at the group level, not per ProPay.
  • Confusing approved with paid
Approved means finalized. Paid means money has been issued.
  • Assuming Company Pool is paid to workers
Company Pool bonuses are not part of worker payouts.
  • Missing deductions on callback ProPays
Callback ProPays focus on deductions and may not show bonuses the same way.
