How do I transfer Protiv account ownership?
Move the account owner role to a different person.
Purpose
There's exactly one Account Owner per Protiv org. They have the highest level of access and own billing. This article shows you how to transfer that role.
When To Use This
Use this when:
- The current owner is leaving the company
- Ownership is shifting between executives
- You need to consolidate billing under a new admin
Important: Talk to Support First
Account ownership transfer is sensitive. Contact help@protiv.com before initiating. Support coordinates the transfer to make sure billing continuity isn't disrupted.
What Gets Transferred
- Billing notification emails
- Subscription management
- Highest-level admin permissions
- Final say on org-level configuration
What Doesn't Change
- The org itself (data, ProPays, statements)
- Other admins (they keep their access)
- Bonus calculations
The Process
- Contact help@protiv.com with current owner + new owner identified
- Support confirms with both parties
- Support performs the transfer in the backend
- New owner receives confirmation
- Old owner is downgraded to admin (or removed if leaving the company)
This typically takes 1-2 business days.
Common Mistakes & How To Fix Them
"I just want to add another admin without transferring ownership" That's a regular invite at admin role. No transfer needed.
"The current owner left the company without transferring" Contact support with documentation. They can verify your authority and process the transfer.
