How do I release a held bonus line item?

Move a held line item back to payable.

Purpose

When a held line item is ready to pay, you release it. The item moves from Held to In Process and gets included in the next statement.

When To Use This

Use this when:

  • A held line item has been resolved and should pay
  • A quality issue or complaint was cleared and the bonus should now go through
  • A waiting period needs to be cut short

Quick Path

  1. Open Bonuses → Line Items
  2. Filter by Held status
  3. Find the line item
  4. Open actions
  5. Click Release
  6. Confirm

Step-by-Step

Find the held item. Click actions → Release.

Confirmation modal opens. Add a note if relevant. Save.

The line item moves to In Process and will appear on the next statement.

Bulk Release

If you have multiple items to release at once, use bulk select:

  1. Filter to Held status
  2. Select multiple items
  3. Bulk Release

Common Mistakes & How To Fix Them

  • "I released it but it didn't appear on this period's statement" Statement timing matters. If the statement already closed, the released item lands on the next one.

  • "I want to release just part of a line item" You can't split a line item. Either release the whole thing, or void it and add a new manual line item with the smaller amount.
