How do I update my Protiv payment method?
Change the credit card or bank account on file for your subscription.
Purpose
Your Protiv subscription has a payment method on file. This article shows you how to update it.
When To Use This
Use this when:
- A credit card expires
- You want to switch from one card to another
- You're changing payment from card to ACH (or back)
- A failed-payment notification arrives
Quick Path
- Go to Settings → Billing
- Click Payment Methods
- Add new method or update existing
- Confirm
Step-by-Step
Open Billing settings.
Find the Payment Methods section.
Click Add Method or click into an existing method to update.
Enter the new card or bank info. Confirm.
Important: Account Owner Only
Updating payment requires Account Owner permissions. If you're an admin but not the Account Owner, you'll see the section but won't be able to edit.
What Gets Charged
Subscription billing charges the active payment method on:
- Monthly billing date
- Manual prepay top-ups
- Onboarding fees (one-time)
After You Update
Test by ensuring the next invoice charges the new method. If you have a recent failed payment, you may want to manually retry.
Common Mistakes & How To Fix Them
"My new card was declined" Verify card info, expiration, billing zip. Contact your bank.
"I want to switch from card to ACH" Both are supported. Add the ACH method, set it as primary, remove the card.
"Failed payment but my card is fine" Could be an integration issue with the billing processor. Contact support.
