What are ProPhases?
ProPhases let you break a non-recurring Job’s ProPay into smaller milestone-based phases instead of managing the entire Job as one ProPay.
Protiv creates a phased ProPay from eligible milestones so you can review, approve, and manage performance in smaller sections.
Overview
ProPhases are designed for Jobs that need more structure than a single Job-level ProPay. Each phase represents a milestone, giving your team a clearer way to track and manage work in stages instead of all at once.
How ProPhases work
When ProPhases is enabled, Protiv can create a phased ProPay for eligible non-recurring Jobs. Instead of one ProPay covering the whole Job, milestones are separated into individual phases. Each phase can then move through its own status and financial stages.
What you can see in a ProPhase
Each ProPhase includes milestone-level details such as:
-
phase name
-
linked milestone
-
phase status
-
progress
-
budget usage
-
bonus and deduction values by stage
ProPhase statuses
A ProPhase can appear in these statuses:
-
Draft
-
Active
-
Approved
-
Paid
-
Excluded
-
Canceled
Saving stages in ProPhases
Each phase shows bonus and deduction values across these stages:
-
Projected: a real-time estimate based on current progress and completed work
-
Reserve: an approved amount that is being held to be applied later
-
Approved: manager-confirmed and payable, but not final until paid
-
Paid: issued and locked
What Reserve means
Reserve is part of the ProPhases workflow. It allows approved value to be held before it is fully released. In the release flow, Protiv describes ProPay Reserve as the balance that carries from phase to phase until it is released to the worker’s statement.
Release Reserve
Phased ProPays include a Release Reserve action in the ProPay menu. This allows you to release all or part of the reserve balance. You can enter one release percentage for everyone or override the release amount by worker.
If there is no reserve available yet, Protiv indicates that reserve is created when a positive amount is approved.
Additional phased ProPay actions
For phased ProPays, Protiv also supports actions such as:
-
Release Reserve
-
Convert to Phases
-
Revert to Non-Phased
Summary
ProPhases help you manage a Job’s ProPay in smaller milestone-based sections. They make it easier to review phase-by-phase status, track value through Projected, Reserve, Approved, and Paid stages, and release reserve when needed.
