What are the Customize Settings in the Team Section and How Do I Use Them?

The Customize Settings in Protiv's Team section let you control worker access and bonus eligibility, ensuring everyone's experience aligns with your company policies.

The "Customize Settings" area in the Team tab is your control panel for fine-tuning how Protiv works for each worker. Let's explore the three options that give you the power to manage worker access and bonuses:

1. Restrict Access 🛑

  • What it does: This setting restricts a user from accessing Protiv. They can't log in or get notifications, but their info stays in Protiv for you to see.
  • When to use it: Ideal for scenarios where you engage a sub-contractor as a worker on your job sites. While these sub-contractors will not receive any bonuses, their costs will still be allocated to the ProPay. By restricting their access, you can ensure they are unable to log in to Protiv.
  • Example: When a sub-contractor is working on-site and tracking their time just like a regular worker, you can restrict their access to Protiv. This way, the sub-contractor remains unaware of the Protiv system, while their tracked hours are still allocated to the ProPay for accurate cost management.

2. Remove Bonus for All ProPays 🙅‍♀️

  • What it does: This setting makes sure a worker doesn't get any bonuses from ProPays. Their hours still count towards the job, but they're not in the bonus pool. You can always change this for specific ProPays if you need to. Any bonus they would have earned gets distributed to the anyone else on the ProPay.
  • When to use it: Great for new hires who haven't earned their bonus stripes yet, or ways to incentives Crew Leads to train new workers. Also, used when companies want to distribute the bonus to only specific crew members on the team (not recommended!)
  • Example: New employee joins the team. They have a 3 week no bonuses policy to get up to speed. All bonuses will then get distributed to the crew lead.

3. Exclude from All ProPays 🚫

  • What it does: It completely excludes the user from all ProPays. Their tracked hours will not be factored into any ProPay calculations. However, you have the option to manually reinstate them to specific ProPays if necessary.
  • When to use it: This option should only be utilized if you do not wish for the hours worked on the job to be included in the ProPay calculations.
  • Example: Mike is a manager at the company who does not work on-site. However, he still clocks into the job linked to the ProPay. By activating the exclusion setting, you can ensure that his hours are not included in the ProPay calculations.

Key Points to Remember

  • These settings give you super-detailed control over how each user interacts with Protiv.
  • You can always tweak these settings for individual ProPays if you need to.
  • Be upfront with your team about your company's bonus policies and how these settings might affect them. Transparency is key!
