How do I define actions for automations in Protiv? 🤖

This guide will explain how to set up actions for your Protiv automations, which determine what happens when an automation is triggered. ⚙️

In Protiv, the primary action for automations is the creation of ProPays. When you set up an automation, you're essentially telling Protiv to automatically create a ProPay when certain conditions are met.

How to Define Actions for Automations
🛠️

  1. Access the Automations Page: Navigate to the "Automations" section on the left-hand side of your Protiv dashboard.

  2. Create or Edit an Automation: If you're creating a new automation, click the "Create New Automation" button. If you're editing an existing automation, click the "Edit" button next to the automation you want to modify.

  3. Calculate ProPay Budget: This step is where you define the main action of the automation: creating a ProPay. Choose how the ProPay budget should be calculated:

    • Using the job's contract price: The ProPay budget will be based on the total contract price of the job. 💰
    • Using the labor budget: The ProPay budget will be based on the estimated labor cost of the job. 👷
    • Using the hours budget: The ProPay budget will be based on the estimated number of hours required to complete the job. ⏳
  4. Select Manager: Choose the default manager for the ProPay from the dropdown menu. This should be an employee with admin or manager permissions. 🧑‍💼

  5. Divide Bonus: Specify how the bonus should be divided:

    • Hours worked (distributed equally): The bonus will be divided equally based on the number of hours each worker put into the job. Each bonus/hour will be the same, but the total bonus will differ based on the hours. ⚖️
    • % of wage (Hours & Wage): The bonus will be distributed equally based on the number of hours recorded and workers' hourly wage. Bonus/hours will be weighted based on each worker's wage.
    • Set % distribution: The bonus will be divided based on the determined percentage set for each worker regardless of time worked on ProPay.
  6. Save Your Automation: Click the "Save" button to save your changes.

Important Note:
Currently, the main action you can define for automations is the creation of ProPays. However, Protiv is actively working on developing additional automation actions to provide more flexibility and customization options.
