This article provides step-by-step instructions on how to manually create a ProPay in Protiv, a job incentive that motivates your team and tracks their performance. 💰
Creating a ProPay in Protiv is a simple process. Follow these steps to set up a ProPay manually:
-
Click "Create ProPay": You'll find this orange button on any page within Protiv.
-
Select a Job:
- If the job already exists in Protiv (likely because you have an integration connected), select it from the dropdown menu.
- If the job doesn't exist, click the dropdown to create a new job. You can enter any name or reference, such as a job number, description, or client name.
-
Name Your ProPay:
- Protiv will automatically generate a ProPay title based on the job name.
- You can edit this title to add more details, such as "Phase 2" or any other relevant information.
-
Select a Manager:
- Choose the manager responsible for the ProPay from the dropdown menu.
- If the manager isn't listed, you can assign or create a new manager directly from the dropdown.
- Note: Managers can also be Admin Coordinators - the person responsible for the daily management of your ProPays.
-
Enter the Labor Budget:
- You have two options:
- Number of hours: This is the target number of hours for completing the job. The labor cost will vary depending on who's on the job and their hourly rates.
- Labor amount: This is the fixed amount you're willing to spend on labor. The number of hours will vary depending on the workers' hourly rates.
- If you need help setting a budget, use the "Budget Help" tool. It can calculate the budget based on your company's average hourly rate or the job revenue.

-
Additional Settings: Click on "Additional Settings" to customize:
- Bonus Split Type: Choose how the bonus will be divided among workers (hours worked, hours and wage, or percentage).
- Bonus Pool: Decide if you want to set aside a portion of the savings for a bonus pool.
- Lead Pay Budget: Set an additional bonus for the crew lead.
- Assign Team: Choose the workers you want to assign to the ProPay.
- Notes: Add any relevant notes or comments about the ProPay.

Important Note: When workers clock into the job, they will be automatically assigned to the ProPay, whether you have an integration or are importing an attendance file.
