Aspire: Connecting to Protiv

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to integrate your Aspire time tracking system with Protiv to automate time tracking and eliminate manual data entry, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in your bonus program.

Prerequisites

  • Admin Access: You'll need administrative privileges in both Protiv and Aspire to establish the connection.
  • Google Chrome: We recommend using Google Chrome as your web browser for optimal security and compatibility during the integration process.

Step-by-Step Integration Guide

  1. Open Protiv:

    • Launch Google Chrome and navigate to https://app.protiv.com.
    • Log in to your Protiv account using your credentials.
    • In the left-hand navigation pane, click on Integrations.
    • Locate the Aspire integration.
    • Click the Connect button. A pop-up window will appear with fields for Client ID, Secret, and Attendance Import From Date. Leave this window open for now.
  2. Open Aspire:

    • Open a new tab in Chrome and go to https://cloud.youraspire.com/login.
    • Enter your Aspire login credentials and click Log In.
    • In the lower left-hand corner, click on your profile picture and select Administration from the pop-up menu.
    • In the top ribbon, click on Application, then click on API below it.
    • On the right-hand side, click the New button.
  3. Configure Aspire API:

    • In the Description field, enter "Protiv".
    • Under Scope, check the box that says Select All to grant Protiv full access to the necessary data.
    • Copy the Client ID from the Aspire tab.
  4. Enter Aspire Credentials in Protiv:

    • Go back to the Protiv tab and paste the copied Client ID into the corresponding field in the Protiv pop-up window.
    • Return to the Aspire tab, copy the Secret, and paste it into the Secret field in the Protiv pop-up window.
  5. Set Attendance Import Date in Protiv:

    • In the Attendance Import From Date field in Protiv, enter the earliest date from which you want to pull time data.
    • Consider going back a week or a month, but remember that the initial sync may take longer for larger date ranges.
    • Click the Authenticate button. Protiv is now connected to your Aspire account.
  6. Save in Aspire:

    • Go back to the Aspire tab and click the Save button to finalize the integration.

  • Initial Sync Time: The first sync may take up to 24 hours, depending on the amount of data being transferred.
  • Sync Frequency: Subsequent syncs occur approximately every two hours.
  • Manual Sync: You can manually force a sync in Protiv if you need to update data immediately.
