Managing Payments, Invoices, and Billing Settings in Protiv

Where to view invoices, update payment methods, and manage billing details.

Where Billing Lives in Protiv

All billing-related actions live in one place.

To access billing:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Billing

From this page, you can:

  1. View invoices

  2. Review billing usage

  3. Check your prepaid credit balance

  4. Access the billing portal

This is the starting point for anything billing-related.


Viewing Your Invoices

Protiv generates an invoice every month based on actual usage.

To view invoices:

  1. Go to Settings → Billing

  2. Open Invoice History

Each invoice shows:

  1. How many users were billed

  2. Your plan rate

  3. Usage amount

  4. Any minimums applied

  5. The final monthly total

 

Note:
You will still receive an invoice even if your charges are fully covered by prepaid credits.

The invoice documents usage, even when no additional charge is made.

Using the Billing & Usage Report

If you’re asking “Who was billed and why?”, start with the Billing / Usage Report.

This report lets you:

  1. See exactly which users were counted each month

  2. Understand why each user was billable

  3. Match usage directly to the invoice total

This is especially useful for:

  1. Auditing invoices

  2. Answering internal questions

  3. Resolving billing confusion without back-and-forth


Managing Payment Methods

Protiv uses a secure billing provider to process payments.

From Settings → Billing, you can:

  1. Open the Billing Portal

  2. Add or update credit cards

  3. View past payments

  4. Download invoices

Important:
The billing portal is where payment methods are managed.
Invoices and usage details remain visible inside Protiv.


Linking an Existing Billing Profile

If your company already has a billing profile on file:

  1. An admin can link that existing profile to your Protiv account

  2. This allows you to reuse stored payment methods

Note:
Linking a billing profile does not trigger a charge.
If no payment method exists, you’ll be prompted to add one.


Billing Access & Permissions

Only admins with the correct permissions can:

  1. View invoices

  2. Update payment methods

  3. Access the billing portal

Note:
If you don’t see billing options, you may not have admin access.
Contact your account admin to request permission.


Common Questions

I updated my card — does that change past invoices?
No. Updating a payment method only affects future charges.

Why did I receive an invoice notification?
Invoices are generated monthly based on usage, even if prepaid credits cover the full amount.

Where can I download invoices for accounting?
Invoices are available in Settings → Billing and inside the billing portal.
